Feldenkrais Functional Integration -Sankary

Feldenkrais Functional Integration®

“Tiffany Sankary is one of the most gifted practitioners with whom I have had the privilege to work. I am a specialist in internal medicine and integrative medicine and have had a lot of experience with practitioners who work with the body, its pain, its imbalances and its postural misalignments. Tiffany does not need to know your "story" to help you. Her intuition guides her hands to the right places on your body. Her intention is to partner with you to allow for the shifts that your body is ready to make.

She is gifted not only in hands-on work, but also in instructing you in self care. She brings the spirit of discovery and curiosity to her interactions with you. She is quiet, patient, and deeply knowing. I recommend her work most highly.”

- Kathryn Hayward, M.D.

What is the purpose of Functional Integration?

To help you learn to move and act

in easier and more efficient ways.

To help you access your potential.

To help you live your dreams.

Why is it called a lesson?

The intention is not to “fix” or “treat" you.

The focus is on creating a context for learning.

What happens?

I will listen to your history,

what you are experiencing,

what your interests are.

I will observe how you do a few movements and then feel with my hands how you move.

Together,

    • We will discover your habits/ biases.

    • We will explore options/variations.

    • We will clarify fundamental movement

      patterns and connections.

You will learn to move in new ways.

You will learn how to distribute movement throughout your entire self.

What is the touch like?

The touch is very gentle - a conversation

between our nervous systems.

I will move you slowly, in an easy range,

feeling how movement passes through you,

helping to take over extra work you are doing.

You will become aware of where you are holding and find yourself letting go.

You will feel how the the different parts

of you are connected through movement.

You will have a new experience of yourself.

Who is it for?

• People in pain or who have lost mobility

• People who are looking for a gentle

entry into being in their bodies

• Musicians, dancers, artists, athletes

who want to go to the next level

Benefits

less: pain & stress

more: ease, flexibility, balance & power

“It is healthier to learn than to be a patient or even be cured. Life is a process not a thing. And, processes go well if there are many ways to influence them. We need more ways to do what we want than the one we know— even if it is a good one in itself.”  - Moshe Feldenkrais
